Here is a sampling of various media sources which I enjoy. Check them out for yourself—who knows? Maybe some of your tastes overlap with mine. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about your guilty pleasures.

If nothing else, you can check “Experience Something Different” off your daily to-do list and be on with your day…

Podcasts

  • Revisionist History: I posit that Malcolm Gladwell is the next Bob Ross–something is amiss in your head if you don’t love this guy and all the interesting thoughts oozing from every curl of his fro!
  • Snap Judgment: As you can imagine, I can appreciate a well-told story. Snap Judgment is chock full of these. Your host Glynn Washington is the story-telling role model that I aspire to, but have to accept that I will never be as ----- awesome as he.
  • Spooked Podcast: Probably my favorite podcast of all time, Spooked–a spin-off from Snap Judgment–fires up a few months before Halloween, signaling that Autumn is creeping upon us. Be advised that these are real ghost-type stories told by real people. While incredibly thought-provoking, you’ve been warned that your confidence in your understanding of reality may be uncomfortably challenged.
  • Hidden Brain: With all the self-psychoanalysis happening in these parts of the www, you shouldn’t be surprised that I enjoy a good podcast with this description: “Shankar Vedantam uses science and storytelling to reveal the unconscious patterns that drive human behavior, shape our choices and direct our relationships.” Science and storytelling? Hell, yes, sign me up!
  • Planet Money: For those out there with an inner financial nerd with a scratch to itch. Their articles & podcasts tend to be fairly interesting, and not just “How to get the best HELOC rates” and “What is an Inverse-Yield Curve?”1But in case you are interested: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/5-things-investors-need-to-know-about-an-inverted-yield-curve-2019-08-14
